Ofloxacin 200 mg is a broad-spectrum fluoroquinolone antibiotic used to treat a wide variety of bacterial infections. It works by inhibiting bacterial DNA gyrase, an enzyme required for DNA replication, transcription, repair, and recombination. Indications (Uses): Respiratory tract infections (e.g., bronchitis, pneumonia) Urinary tract infections (UTIs) Skin and soft tissue infections Gastrointestinal infections (e.g., traveler’s diarrhea) Sexually transmitted infections (e.g., gonorrhea) Ear, nose, and throat infections Dosage & Administration: Adults: 200 mg to 400 mg once or twice daily, depending on severity and type of infection Take with or without food; best taken at the same time every day Complete the full course even if symptoms improve early Side Effects: Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea Dizziness or headache Insomnia Rarely, tendon rupture or nerve damage (especially with prolonged use) Precautions: Not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding Use cautiously in patients with kidney problems or epilepsy Avoid excessive sun exposure (may cause photosensitivity) Storage: Store in a cool, dry place below 25°C.
