OFLAWEL-OZ is a combination antibiotic medication containing Ofloxacin (200 mg) and Ornidazole (500 mg). This formulation is used to treat various bacterial and parasitic infections, including those of the gastrointestinal tract, respiratory system, skin, and urogenital tract. Composition: Ofloxacin (200 mg): A fluoroquinolone antibiotic that inhibits bacterial DNA gyrase, preventing bacterial replication and leading to cell death.​ Ornidazole (500 mg): A nitroimidazole derivative effective against anaerobic bacteria and protozoa; it works by damaging their DNA and inhibiting further growth.​ Indications: Gastrointestinal infections such as amoebiasis and giardiasis​ Respiratory tract infections​ Skin and soft tissue infections​ Urogenital infections​ Dosage and Administration: The dosage should be as prescribed by a healthcare professional, based on the severity and type of infection.​ It's important to complete the full course of therapy, even if symptoms improve earlier. Side Effects: Nausea and vomiting​ Dizziness or headache​ Loss of appetite​ Allergic reactions like skin rashes (seek medical attention if severe)​ Precautions: Not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding unless deemed necessary by a doctor.​ Use with caution in patients with a history of seizures or neurological disorders.​ Avoid alcohol consumption during treatment and for at least 48 hours after completion, as Ornidazole can cause a disulfiram-like reaction with alcohol.​ Storage: Store in a cool, dry place below 25°C.​ Keep out of reach of children.​ Note: This medication should be taken only under the supervision of a qualified healthcare provider.
